Eyeglass Lenses

Below you will see a basic listing of various types of lenses as well as lens enhancements. Each individual has specific visual needs according to their ocular condition. Many scientists have addressed these needs using various techniques. We have numerous ways utilizing these inventions to address specific ocular needs. As you read about these products think about your own ocular demands.

High-index Lenses
If you hate thick prescription eyeglasses, try lenses in a high-index material. They offer superior optics in a thinner, lighter lens. Also read our Eye Doctor Q&A on eyeglasses.

Aspheric Lenses
Aspherics are ideal for strong prescriptions because they are flatter and thinner. They also provide better vision than ordinary lenses and look better because they lessen farsighted eye magnification and nearsighted eye minification.

Multifocal Lenses
Bifocals and trifocals come in many configurations, depending on whether you sit at the computer all day, play golf, work on automobiles, etc. Here's what you need to know to choose the right bifocal lens or trifocal lens for your presbyopia. Also read our Eye Doctor Q&A on bifocal lenses.

Progressive Addition Lenses
Progressive lenses can do everything a bifocal or trifocal can do, but without the lines. Here's how they work and why you should consider them if you have presbyopia.

Lens Coatings
Anti-reflective coating, UV coating and scratch-resistant coating are options that make lenses more attractive and longer-lasting. We explain how they work and why you should consider them the next time you purchase eyeglasses.

Photochromics and Tints
Photochromic lenses (also called variable-tint lenses or transition lenses) that darken in the sun are convenient for people who spend a lot of time outdoors. Here's a rundown of the many kinds of photochromic lenses now available for eyeglasses. Also: cosmetic lens tints and what they can do for your eyes and your looks.

Polycarbonate
Polycarbonate lenses are very impact-resistant, and thinner than regular plastic lenses. They're great for active people — especially kids.

Contact Lenses

We fit patients with astigmatism, those that need bifocals, those that want to change the color of their eyes, and those that need an artificial pupil.  We are able to get any lens made.

Disposable Contact Lenses

What do you like to pack for a trip?  The right clothes, the right shoes, cosmetics- and , oh yes, your glasses, contact lenses, and cleaning solutions.

But wait.  If your eye doctor finds that disposable contact lenses are your best optical option, you may be able to leave your glasses and cleaners at home.  And you will enjoy the all-day comfort that disposable contact lenses offer.

Baush & Lomb recently came up with a winner in their Softlens 66 disposable contact lens system. Composed of 66 percent water, the contact lens maintains lots of oxygen to the cornea for safe wear.

Looking for the ultimate disposable, try the daily disposable contacts for ultimate convenience. Simply throw them away at the end of the day. No hassles of cleaning, no running out of solution late at night. Just throw them away contacts.

Astigmatism and Disposable Contacts

Yes, for the first time, astigmatism in a disposable contact lens format.

In the past, your eye care professional may have advised you that due to your astigmatism, you can not wear soft disposable contacts.  But with lenses such as FreshLook Toric and Ciba's Focus Toric that's no longer true.

Today, astigmatic people can have sharp, undistorted vision with disposable toric contact lenses.  Because you replace these toric lenses frequently, they stay clean and clear.  That's good for your eyes and a lot more comfortable too.

For your convenience, FreshLook Toric Lenses have a light green handling tint.  The tint will not change your eye color and it will not affect your vision.  But it will be easier to find in your lens case or your sink.  There is also a special FreshMark inversion mark that helps you insert your lenses properly.

So now more than ever, if you have never been able to wear disposable contact lenses, your future never looked so clear.
